Drogi w Alta de Lisboa są studium z serii Zadania niemożliwe. Zadania niemożliwe z kolei to zbiór prac odno – szących się do punktów geograficznych, które przez warunki historyczne, ekono – miczne, społeczne, a także geologiczne, zostały usunięte z przestrzeni politycznej i społecznej i tym samym znalazły się poza czasem. Miejsca te stały się rozle – głymi niemiejscami, znajdują poza za – sięgiem polityki i niejako poza światem. Jednak mimo że zostały wymazane, są realne, możliwe do zlokalizowania i zaj – mują znaczne przestrzenie geograficz – ne, a tym samym wpływają na swobodę przemieszczania się ludzi oraz społeczne i polityczne procesy myślowe w ich otoczeniu. Miejsca te fascynują mnie, ponieważ ukazują wiele zaburzonych znaczeń i kontekstów. Stawiają mnie jednak również przed dylematem: na jakiej podstawie mogę tworzyć dzieła sztuki, które są artystycznie poprawne, ale dla mnie i dla moich innych ról społecznych potencjal – nie nie do zaakceptowania?
Wege in Alta de Lisboa ist eine Studie aus der Reihe der Unmöglichen Vorha – ben. Die Unmöglichen Vorhaben sind ein Corpus von Arbeiten, die sich auf geo – graphische Orte beziehen, die durch die Überlagerung historischer, wirtschaft – licher, sozialer und auch geologischer Bedingungen aus dem politischen und sozialen Raum herausgelöst wurden und “aus der Zeit gefallen” sind. Diese Orte sind zu gewaltigen Unorten geworden, außerhalb des Zugriffes des Politischen und außerhalb der Welt. Da die beschrie – benen Orte aber trotz ihres “aus der Welt Seins” real und lokalisierbar sind und beträchtliche geographische Räume ein – nehmen, beeinträchtigen sie menschli – che Bewegungsfreiheit und soziale und politische Denkprozesse in ihrer Umge – bung. Die Orte faszinieren mich, weil sie enorme Sinnbrüche darstellen, Fragmen – tierungen von Zusammenhängen. Sie stellen mich aber auch vor ein Dilemma: Auf welcher Basis kann ich Kunstwerke schaffen die zwar künstlerisch richtig sind, für mich in meinen anderen Rollen in der Gesellschaft aber potentiell unhalt – bar.
Paths in Alta de Lisboa is a study from the series of Impossible Tasks. Impossi – ble Tasks, in turn, are a corpus of works that refer to geographical locations that due to historical, economic, social and also geological conditions have been re – moved from the political and social space and have thus “fallen out of time”. These places have become huge non-places, beyond the grasp of politics and in a way outside the world. However, despite being erased, they are real, localizable and oc – cupy considerable geographical spaces; in result, they affect people’s freedom of movement and also social and political thought processes in their surroundings. These places fascinate me because they represent enormous breaches of mean – ing, fragmentations of contexts. But they also confront me with a dilemma: How can I create works of art that are artisti – cally correct, but potentially untenable for me and for my other social roles?
