Zbiory to cykl, w którym staram się zgromadzić motywy i formy pojawiające się w moich pracach rzeźbiarskich na najwcześniejszych etapach i powracające w momentach, gdy mogę działać zupełnie swobodnie. Również materiały użyte do pracy są tymi najbardziej podstawowymi. Glina, która pod wpływem wypału i zabiegów technicznych ukazuje swe różnorodne oblicza – ponownie okazuje się najbardziej ciekawym z tworzyw. Innym użytym medium jest stal, która z jednej strony ma właściwości konstrukcyjne, z drugiej zaś – działa niczym rysunek przestrzenny. Rysunki zresztą – te na płaszczyźnie – stanowią uzupełnienie prezentowanej kolekcji prac rzeźbiarskich i są – podobnie jak one – wyrazem pewnej potrzeby działania, poza wszelkimi kontekstami, wobec materii i formy. Tytuł wystawy nawiązuje do motywu gromadzenia, zbierania plonów, porządkowania. W naturalny sposób – w odniesieniu do tytułu jak i prezentowanych obiektów – na myśl przychodzą kolekcje znalezionych kamieni, liści, nasion czy łupin, przez co kanwą dla całej sytuacji staje się przyroda w swej ożywionej i nieożywionej postaci
Sammlungen ist eine Serie, in der ich versuche, Motive und Formen zusammenzubringen, die in meinem bildhauerischen Schaffen schon in den frühesten Stadien auftauchen und zu Zeiten wiederkehren, in denen ich völlig frei agieren kann. Auch die Materialien, die ich für diese Arbeiten verwende, sind Grundstoffe. Ton, der unter dem Einfluss des Brennens und der technischen Bearbeitung seine verschiedenen Gesichter zeigt, erweist sich mir als das interessanteste der Materialien. Ein weiteres verwendetes Medium ist Stahl, der einerseits strukturelle Eigenschaften hat und andererseits als Raumzeichnung fungiert. Die Zeichnungen – die flächigen – ergänzen die präsentierte Sammlung skulpturaler Arbeiten und sind ebenso Ausdruck eines gewissen Bedürfnisses, außerhalb aller Kontexte auf Materie und Form einzuwirken. Der Titel der Ausstellung spielt auf das Motiv des Sammelns, Erntens, Ordnens an. Auf natürliche Weise – sowohl in Bezug auf den Titel als auch auf die präsentierten Objekte – kommen einem Sammlungen von gefundenen Steinen, Blättern, Samen oder Muscheln in den Sinn, wobei die Natur in ihren belebten und unbelebten Formen den Rahmen für die gesamte Situation bildet
Gathering is a series in which I try to bring together motifs and forms that appeared in my sculptural work at the earliest stages and recur at times when I can act completely freely. The materials used in the pieces are also the most basic ones. Clay, which under the influence of firing and technical treatment shows its various facets — again turns out to be the most interesting of the materials. Another medium used is steel, which on the one hand has structural qualities and on the other acts as a spatial drawing. The drawings — this time those on a surface — complement the presented collection of sculptural works and are, like them, an expression of a certain need to act, outside of all contexts, towards matter and form. The title of the exhibition alludes to the motif of gathering, harvesting, sorting. Naturally, what comes to mind — in context of both the title and the presented objects — are collections of found stones, leaves, seeds or shells; that makes nature in its animate and inanimate forms a point of reference for the whole situation.
