As part of the lAbiRynT 2025 festival, Klara Schilliger and Valerian Maly will move, addressing the subject of TIME, from the altitude of 1020 M.ü.M. [ASL] to 41 m n.p.m. [ASL] and, using their installation Emit Time: The Civil Twilight of Słubice, they will examine the phenomena of perceived and measured time. To do this, they will first delve into the craft of clockmaking and take a close look at the way all kinds of time phenomena are measured: How long does it take to chew gum? How does one read a letter at dusk? Does fine sand from the Baltic Sea move faster than shale sand from the Gemmi Pass at 2,300 m ASL? What is 160 million years? How is the clock driven and does it tick at the same speed at 41 m n.p.m. [ASL] as at 1020 m M.ü.M. [ASL]? Klara Schilliger and Valerian Maly are digging in the soil of Słubice — formerly Dammvorstadt or Gartenstadt — no, not in search of cicada larvae… but in search of the time brought ashore… and all this will happen during the evening The Civil Twilight of Słubice, which will take place: on 18.10.2025 from 18:34 to 19:14.
