The word “experience” describes an aspect of human activity that is not directly accessible to other people. It is subjective, time-based and in constant flow. Guessing what a given person experiences we need to refer to his/her gestures, facial expressions and speech. The piece Non-presence poses questions like: Where are the boundaries between these personal psychological processes, between the private and the public space, between the real and the fictional, the mental and the physical? In their work, the artists employ theatrical principles and create fictional situations in a reverse way. One of the artists creates two authentic scenes, which are supposed to symbolise the private and the public space. Then the next artist responds by creating a gesture in form of a hologram. This self-portrait shows physical manifestations that occur both consciously and unconsciously within the given situation and environment. Finally, as a reaction to the scene and the gesture, the third artist creates a voiceover for the situation, which shows the inner voice. The situation that now arises is an intimate story, a fictionally amended identity, on the border of reality.
